Buying Tips For Acai Berry- Two Super Important Facts About Buying Acai
How do I buy acai berry? Is it safe to buy online… or should I go to my local health store instead? Is the supermarket a good place to buy acai? What about those smoothies I see in the grocery? Are they as healthy as they look….or do they simply taste good instead? In this article we are going to take a quick and insightful look at facts you NEED to know before buying acai if you want to avoid being ripped off, disappointed or otherwise let down! Curious to know more? Great… continue reading as we take a closer look below!
Fact #1: Acai Berry Supermarket Smoothies are NOT the Real Deal!
But they do taste good…and I tried one just the other day to make sure..:-) The truth is, these products are more like high calorie deserts with purple flavoring and are actually more likely to make you FAT…then anything else. Unfortunately, many supermarkets peddle these products to those of us who are too busy to pay attention to the details….yet want a quick fix “fad” taste of the latest and greatest trends in wellness. My acai berry smoothie had about 800 calories in the bottle itself (which I drank in less than a day) and while it stimulated my taste buds, it didn’t do much for the rest of me!
Fact #2: All Acai Products (and offers) are NOT Created Equal
Which means that you’ve got to know what you’re buying before you do. Some online offers, for example have been notoriously manipulative with their marketing. Others have sold inferior quality acai derivatives… rather than genuine, organic freeze dried acai. Remember, the actual acai fruit perishes within 24 hours of harvest, and the most widely accepted mechanism for retaining the benefits of the pulp is freeze drying at the point of picking, so that all of the essential anti-oxidant benefits are retained. (acai is notoriously good for retaining it’s natural ORAC value long after being picked if processed properly) This means you should avoid products that use a different mechanism (other than freeze drying) such as sprays or even gels… and whenever possible, choose products that are organic acai certified, as that gives you another layer of promise that the product is going to be compliant…and good!
The bottom line is…
Genuine Acai can be bought for a fair price, from reputable distributors, without all of the hype, hysteria and marketing myth that usually accompanies a new “discovery” in the health and wellness fields. If you are someone who values optimal health, and recognizes the cutting edge importance of anti-oxidants and phytonutrients in your diet, it may just be a great choice for you as well!
Bonus Tip: Beware of the Acai Berry Scams! Unfortunately, many of the Acai products on the market are scams, being sold by unscrupulous companies with one hand in your pocket, rather than out to help you heal.
My best advice? If you really want to experience the amazing benefits of acai, make sure you ONLY buy genuine Acai Berry extract.
(This is the best acai product online in our opinion, and the one that we use, and recommend to our family, friends and readers alike.)
